Wadi Mujib Malaqi Trail - Hiking in Jordan - The Dead Sea
This trail is in the famous Wadi al-Mujib valley in the Mujib Nature Reserve. This is not a self-guided tour. The trail is managed by the RSCN.
You need climbing equipment to descend a 30 meter/ 100 feet waterfall (provided by the RSCN) and you can enter the reserve only with a guide.
The trail is in the Mujib Biosphere Reserve, the lowest reserve on earth. UNESCO formally recognized the Mujib Nature Reserve as a Biosphere Reserve in 2011 for its unique qualities:
The main features of the wadi system and the narrows gorges of these wadis is unique to the area and cannot be found anywhere along the Dead Sea. In addition to this, having this whole permanent water system flowing into the Dead Sea is unmatchable at the global level.
